Here’s a detail from an illustration that I just added to my portfolio.  In just a few days I’ll meet up with Jill and Tina at the SCBWI summer conference in L.A.  I can’t wait!!

I’ve been working on lots of new designs for the French Nest Market, and this is one of them.  Her friends, Summer, Fall, and Winter will be at the market too.  You can see Summer over on my blog.  Happy Thursday!

I’ve added some new items to my Etsy shop, including this “Hey Diddle Diddle” illustration.  Come see!

Here’s my quick sketch for this month’s “Pinocchio” theme.  The original version of “Pinocchio” sure is wacky!  You can read some of it here if you’d like.

Here are some more downloadable valentines for you!  Just click on the image to download a pdf and print the valentines on letter size cardstock.  Cut on the dotted lines, and there you go!  And don’t forget about Tina’s valentines, a few posts below.  They’re great!

I was featured on Kathy Temean’s blog (she’s the SCBWI NJ regional advisor).  Thank you Kathy for interviewing me for “Illustrator Saturday”!  I’m honored!

You can read the interview here.

I was so excited when Angela chose “A Christmas Carol” for this month’s theme.  I would definitely like to revisit this story again.  There are so many wonderful characters and scenes to illustrate!  But, this is what I came up with for now.  I hope that you all have a wonderful holiday weekend!

Happy December!  I didn’t quite finish my robot illustration in time for November, but better late than never, right?

I’ve updated my Etsy shop with some prints of my illustrations, as well as a set of holiday note cards.  Hooray!  Click here to come take a look.  Also, I’m hosting a giveaway over on my blog.  Maybe you’d like to enter for a chance to win a note card set and the illustration print of your choice?

Happy week before Halloween!  If you click on the image above you can open my ghoul mask as a pdf file.  Then you can print it out, cut it out, add some string, and wear it for any ghoulishness you might be getting up to this weekend.  I’ll be sporting Jill’s Lion Mask for the Halloween festivities.  Happy Haunting to all of my ghoulish friends!

Here’s my entry for last week’s Scribble Off theme, “Song”.  I’ve always had a soft spot for cowboy music.  You know, the good old timey kind.  From the ages of 12 to 17 I was in an all girl’s country band.  Yep, its true.  We played at State and County Fairs.  We played at Cheyenne Frontier Days and wore cowboy boots and big belt buckles with our initials on them.  Just in case you don’t believe me, here’s one of our promo photos (taken when I was 13 and the day before I got braces).  I’m on the lower right.  Crazy.

I was so excited when Tina chose Wynken, Blynken, and Nod for this month’s theme!   I’d been wanting to illustrate it for a good long while.  I think I’d like to try my hand at this one again someday, and maybe do a full spread.

Stay tuned for next month’s theme, “Ocean Voyage”!  And don’t forget to download Jill’s pdf version of Wynken, Blynken, and Nod. 🙂

This past weekend I attended the SCBWI Summer Conference in L.A. and had an amazing time!  I wrote about it over on my blog.

This will be the year of the conference for me.  Last night I registered for the SCBWI’s Rocky Mountain chapter conference in September.  Not only will I get to have a portfolio critique with Adam Rex, but I’ll get to hang out with Jill!  Hooray!

I wish that my real garden had sun flowers and lettuce  and carrots instead of just three sad little tomato plants.  Oh well.  Maybe next summer.  Hooray for our new group blog!  I’m so excited to have joined up with Jill, Marsha, and Tina.  I hope you’ll enjoy “Between the End Pages”!
